Life in Broadcasting
A talk by Peter Fincham OT for the Tennant Lecture Series
Tuesday 22 February at 8.00pm
EM Forster Theatre, Tonbridge School
Peter Fincham OT went on to Cambridge after Tonbridge and joined the Footlights, before embarking on a hugely successful career in broadcasting. He founded TalkBack productions with Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones, which became well known for the quality of its comedy output. Between 2005 and 2007 he was Controller of BBC One, with a programming budget of £873 million, and then moved to become Director of ITV in 2008. With a track record of programs like They Think It's All Over, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, The One Show, Broadchurch and Downton Abbey, there can be few people better qualified to tell us about what it is like to work in broadcasting, in the age of SKY, streaming and Netflix.
Drinks will be available in the Theatre Bar from 7.30pm.
