This December, British-Italian tenor Freddie De Tommaso (WH 06-11) is performing in Otello, at Covent Garden’s Royal Opera House, where he will be signing the role of Cassio, under the baton of Maestro Antonio Pappano. Freddie shot to prominence when he won the First Prize, the Placido Domingo Tenor Prize and the Verdi Prize at the 2018 Viñas International Singing Competition in Barcelona. This makes him the youngest winner in 55 years, as a rank outsider, beating 549 other singers. Currently a member of the studio of Bayerische Staatsoper for the 18/19 season, next season De Tommaso makes his debut for Dutch National Opera as Ismaele in Nabucco and makes his debut at the Semperoper Dresden as Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly. In future seasons, he makes his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper. To keep track of Freddie’s upcoming performances, visit his artist page at: https://www.intermusica.co.uk/artist/Freddie-De-Tommaso |
