Careers & Mentoring |
Rory Laughton-Scott (HS 00-05) tells us how he became founder of The Career Agent. I have been a recruiter since 2012, placing candidates into a wide range of companies and industries across the globe. I started in Banking recruitment, managing two teams of 10 recruiters on international projects for some of the largest Banks in the world. I then expanded into recruitment for Sales, Marketing Finance and other support staff. In 2018 I spotted a gap in the market and The Career Agent was born! I started helping friends with their CVs and career choices from early on in my recruitment career. I found that I was able to easily understand each person's unique strengths and skills, but I thought nothing of it. Word spread and I was getting more and more people coming to my door for advice, so I started to put some structure behind it. Fast forward to today, I have helped approximately 100 people across the globe to find and secure their ideal career. I have helped people across most industries, helped people to leave the armed forces, entrepreneurs to set up their businesses, graduates to land their first role and people who feel lost and lack self-belief to kickstart their lives. My absolute passion is helping people to understand their strengths, weaknesses and unique place in the world. I have also found that I teach skills that clients will use for the rest of their careers; interview technique, how to get pay rises etc. For more careers advice and assistance visit Rory's website: https://www.thecareeragent.co.uk |
