A quick update for you on upcoming OTSA sailing events this year for your calendar. We will definitely host the Generations' Cup (29 June) and enter the Arrow Trophy (5-6 October); for the other 2 events I need to gauge interest, so please let me know as soon as possible whether you'd be interested in any/all of them.

As ever, there are discounts available for young OTs, so if cost is a factor, please let me know. We want to make sailing as accessible as possible to all OTs.

• 27-28 April, Belvidere Cup & Arrow Keelboat Trophy (Queen Mary Reservoir)
• 2 separate races, of which we can enter one/other/ both. Saturday is match racing and Sunday is fleet racing. J/80 or Sonar, 4-5 places, costs £60ish each, each event a single day's racing.
• Let me know if you're interested and which day(s), and I'll see if we can get a team together.

• 14-16 June, Round The Island Race (Cowes/IoW)
• Tonbridge booked this boat, but unfortunately cannot use it as it clashes with the boys' activities, including exams. Would you be interested in joining this boat as part of an OTSA crew with skipper Craig? It's been 10 years since the OTSA last entered a boat in the RTI race, so it would be great to be involved and fly the Tonbridge banner again. 32' boat, 5 places, costs £650ish, Friday sail Portsmouth to Cowes, Saturday race, Sunday cruise back.
• Let me know ASAP if you're interested, otherwise the places will be advertised publicly.

• 29 June, Nick Turner Generations' Cup (Bough Beech)
• The Nick Turner Generations' Cup is the annual match between the OTSA and the Tonbridge boys. We would like to move the Generations' Cup back to its normal summer spot – last year it was postponed to September – and I hear the Tonbridge team are strong this year and will pose a challenge to the OTs, who have been unbeaten for the last few years. Fireflies, Saturday afternoon, match racing vs. the boys, no cost.
• If you can or might attend this, please can you give me an early indication of your interest, as we're juggling a busy Tonbridge sailing calendar.

• 4-6 October, Arrow Trophy (Cowes/The Solent)
• Our regular competition, we will as usual enter a boat in the Arrow Trophy Regatta. We will be racing in the Sunsail Fleet this year, having won promotion from the Fairview Fleet last year. We hope for similar success again and it's always great fun. Sunsail 40 boat, 7 places, costs £375ish, Friday sail Portsmouth to Cowes, Saturday racing and dinner, Sunday racing and cruise back.
