Old Tonbridgians had a convincing win on The Head against Old Wykehamists in the First Round of the Cricketer Cup on Sunday 9 June. Winchester seemed to be in control at 150-3 off 33 overs, but a devastating spell from Henry Cope brought him 5-13 in only 6 overs. Adam Bissett and Will Nolan took two wickets each and Winchester were all out for 166 in 40 overs. Tonbridge reached this target in only 30 overs, mainly thanks to a blistering 92 from Ollie Sykes off only 63 balls. The 2023 School Leaver and Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year hit seven sixes and eight fours in an opening partnership of 117 with Ed Hyde, who finished on 32 not out.
The second round will be at home against Harrow Wanderers on Sunday 30 June.
