This is just a short post to mention some events this year…

7 June 2025, Round The Island Race, The Solent

We are currently seeking sailors for our Round the Island Race entry.

We have again booked a 32' yacht from Bourne to Sail for the Round the Island Race on 7 June 2025. Last year, we had to retire early due to 50+kt winds and a torn sail, so we are hoping to get further than the Needles this year! There are 5 places available and I already have takers for 3 of them. Cost is likely to be around £700. If you'd like to take part, please let me know.

9-18 August 2025, Sailing to Norway, North Sea

We are seeking those interested in sailing to Norway.

Jonny Moss is organising this trip to sail from the UK to Norway in the summer. The boat is likely to be a mix of OTs and some current Tonbridgians and we still have some places available. The cost is £1300-1700 depending on final numbers. If this appeals to you, please get in touch for more details.

The sail across the North Sea will likely take 2 or 3 days of continual sailing aboard our 73ft Ocean Racing yacht. Once the trip across the North Sea is complete, we will likely spend some time in Stavanger resting, before sailing in and around the fjords of Norway, perhaps up to Bergen and back. The trip ends in Norway, with plenty of inexpensive flight options from Stavanger back to the UK with Norwegian air.

May-June, Generations' Cup, Bough Beech

We hope to run the annual match between OTs and the current Tonbridgians on Bough Beech in its usual slot in May/June, weather and school activities permitting. When we have a date, I will send out more information.

October, Arrow Trophy, The Solent

We plan to enter a boat in the Arrow Trophy Regatta, our regular competition, which is in early October (dates TBC). We won our fleet last year, so we hope to build on that success, and it's always an excellent weekend. Sunsail 40 boat, 7 places, costs £500ish, Friday sail Portsmouth to Cowes, Saturday racing and dinner, Sunday racing and cruise back. When I have more information, I'll share it.
