The School recently invited 180 senior citizens from the local area to attend the annual Community Concert in Old Big School. Guests attending the concert were picked up from their homes by volunteers and then driven to the School, where they were warmly welcomed by Third Year pupils who volunteer with the Tonbridge Community Action programme. Attendees then had the pleasure of hearing boys from multiple year groups play a wide variety of pieces and genres, from jazz and blues to the classical pieces of Haydn and Glinka. The second half of the concert showcased pieces that featured in past Tonbridge performed productions such as West Side Story and Oklahoma, and the boys were joined by girls from local schools Hillview and Judd. In attendance were The Mayor and Mayoress of Tonbridge and Malling, Cllr James Lark and Mrs Jill Lark. Juliet Burnett, Community Action Manger said of the afternoon: 'This is always one of the most joyous events of the year, and it is always lovely to welcome back familiar faces. Thank you to all the musicians, staff, parents and boys who gave up their time to make this evening memorable for many in our community.'
