Why did you help set up Nemo? My housemate worked in luxury travel for a number of years and always mentioned that he saw client frustrations first hand and felt that there was a gap in the market to be explored. We set up Nemo to change perceptions on luxury travel, to make it more accessible and to provide more transparency in the planning process. As an accountant myself I dove into the stats and found that clients have around 1000 touch points when planning a trip – so we wanted to collate everything into one place so that with Nemo, there’s only one. What are your top travel destinations? A tough one! India always has a special place in my heart from travelling there with my family in my teens to heading there backpacking after I finished school. It’s a place with incredible history and character, and one I could visit again and again. Japan is having a massive surge in popularity what with the rugby at the moment and Olympics next year, so this will be up on the website in the next few weeks. It’s such a rich country culturally that it has something for everyone, and its so different to its Asian counterparts. Sometimes however, you don’t need to look as far, as there are so many hidden gems in Europe. A recent favourite of mine are some of the quieter Cyclades islands in Greece, such as Milos and Sifnos. The food is amazing, and we have a lovely itinerary that allows you to island hop and stay in some beautiful hotels. Above: Josh and 4 other OTs at Kyoto's Golden Temple Which countries are on your bucket list? Jordan is very high on the bucket list at the moment. Petra just looks incredible and with some awesome extensions into the Wadi Rum desert and Dead Sea, the landscapes are begging to be explored. We’ve actually got a trip online where you can combine Jordan with Egypt and therefore visit two of the Wonders of the World in one trip, which is pretty cool! Finally, ethical travel is important to Nemo. Tell us more about what you're doing as a company? We’ve always said that being sustainable should be a given for any travel company, and it’s something we discussed at the inception of Nemo. Every partner we work with needs to hit our high standards and support the communities and environment they operate in. We work with a charity called Hello World - who provide education to remote communities in Nepal and Uganda via solar powered learning hubs. We have pledged a portion of our profits to Hello World, and will also plant a tree for every trip sold. If you have any questions or are looking to plan a holiday in the next 12 months, Josh and the team would love to hear from you on enquiries@nemo-travel.com or at 07753 935969. As an added bonus if you reference OTS during the purchase they will offer a £150 discount. Find out more at: www.nemo-travel.com |
