In September Tim will be heading to northwest Nepal with a team of fellow adventurers to climb Putha Hiunchuli in the Dhaulagiri range. The aim is to summit this 7,246m peak with mountain bikes and set a new Guinness World Record for the highest altitude bike ride.
Renowned in the Adventure World, Tim has previously led overland expeditions between London and Cape Town, ridden motorbikes overland to Kathmandu and Timbuktu and across the Sahara with the world’s first road legal flying car. Alongside Bear Grylls and Neil Laughton he has also circumnavigated mainland Britain and Ireland by Jet-ski.
The serious side of the expedition is to raise money for the Tenzing Norgay School in the village of Kakgot near the foot of the mountain. The team’s goal is to improve the school building, install Starlink internet, train staff and provide IT support for many years to come.
You can find out more about Tim’s challenge and support the team via the following link: Tenzing Norgay School.
We wish Tim and his team all the best with the trip and look forward to hearing more.
