Zak Crawley (WH 11-16), current England Cricket star and Old Tonbridgian, paid a visit to the School on Tuesday 7 May to observe current pupils playing cricket and speak with them during the day, and then to deliver a talk at the EM Forster Theatre later in the evening.
Zak was joined by fellow OT Ed Smith (WH 90-95), former England cricketer and Chief Selector for England Cricket from 2018-2021, as well as current chair of Marylebone Cricket Club, Mark Nicholas.
Arriving at Tonbridge in the early afternoon, Zak joined the first cricket team on The Head to observe their playing, following which boys had the opportunity to have memorabilia signed by Zak. England Rugby player Ben Earl (JH 11-16) also came to support his classmate and both were happy to be photographed with the boys.
The talk began at 8pm and was attended by over 300 from the Tonbridge community, with the three speakers sharing their experiences in the cricket world and giving insight into where they think the future of England cricket lies, followed by an engaging Q&A session. Many thanks to all who came to support the event, and for those who were unable to attend, the talk is available to view on our Past Lectures page.
