In the Summer Term, we bade farewell to five long-serving members of the Common Room. They include Mr Andrew Leale, Director of Admissions, Former Head of Business, Housemaster of Park House, teacher of Economics, a champion of the so called ‘beautiful game,’ who leaves us after 26 years, to take up his role as Senior Deputy Head at a new school being created in Beijing. Mr Andrew Pearson, Head of Strings will enjoy a well-earned retirement after 19 years in which he’s inspired our young musicians, particularly in their performance of chamber music. Mr and Mrs Clack, Head of Brass and teacher of Strings, an extraordinary musical duo at Tonbridge leave us after a combined 62 years, having enthused, inspired and entertained throughout that time. And finally we say farewell to our Second Master, Dr Williams, who has done so much to continue to develop the quality of our pastoral care, and who has approached all that he’s done here with compassion, intellect and energy. Huw leaves Tonbridge to take on the role of Headmaster of Yarm School.
