Old Tonbridgian Stars present our first short film Awards Ceremony – on Friday 3rd July, 10am A few months ago Tonbridge launched a film competition, inviting all the boys to take part and offering a chance to win substantial prizes. The results have been outstanding and a School-wide event was planned, which included screening all six of the winning three-minute films. Due to the lockdown, we've moved the Awards Ceremony online, and using Zoom we've created an exciting Oscars/BAFTAs-style event. Watch the promo video here: https://vimeo.com/431827984/50bef13499 Stars taking part include actor OT Dan Stevens (MH 96-01) (Downton Abbey), actor Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and director Tom Hooper (The King's Speech, Les Miserables, His Dark Materials). The show has been produced by OT Vikram Jayanti (Sc 68-72), a multi-award winning filmmaker who has been teaching filmic storytelling at Tonbridge, in conjunction with the English and Digital Creativity Departments. Our ultimate goal is for Tonbridge to become a centre of excellence for filmmaking, and we plan to make the film competition an annual event. We'd love as many of the Tonbridge community as possible to watch the event and will be in touch soon with details of how you can do this. |
