This year winners of The Boar, Tonbridge's Film Competition are Antonin (Sc2) and Daniel (MH2) with their impressive film, The Lost Boys of WWII.
The competition, organised annually by the History Department, invites students from all year groups to create a short documentary on a historical subject of their choice.
This year's winning documentary explores the remarkable stories of four Old Tonbridgians from the Second World War: Wing Commander James Brindley Nicolson VC (WH 30-34), Air Chief Marshal Sir William Elliot (JH 10-14), Squadron Leader ‘Dick’ Hood (DB 23-27), and Major-General Sir Millis Rowland Jefferis KBE MC (PH 12-17).
Drawing extensively from the School’s archives, the boys brought these historical figures to life, celebrating their bravery and contributions while reflecting on the sacrifices they made.
Head of History, Noah Hillyard, said: “The Boar Film Competition is an excellent platform for our students to combine creativity and historical research. Antonin and Daniel’s film is a testament to the power of storytelling in making history resonate with audiences today, and their thorough research truly impressed the judging panel.”
