Theo Dodds, who has already won the Royal Navy's coveted title of Sportsman of the Year, has been named the UK Armed Forces Sportsman of the Year at an awards ceremony on 15 April 2024 at the RAF Club in Piccadilly.
Theo was recognised for his contribution to Navy sport in 2023, bringing on the Royal Navy team to be an effective competitor as well as for his success in the Inter-services Long Range Small-bore Competition in 2023 where he took the individual title.
Theo has recently returned from South Africa where he shot for GB, helping the team to win the prestigious Protea Match as well as becoming individual World Champion at 700m and setting a one-day record in the most important international fullbore competition of them all, the Palma Match. Theo took the record with a score of 225 and 40 'V' bulls (out of a maximum possible of 225 and 45 Vs), smashing the previous record by ten 'V' bulls.
Theo developed his shooting whilst at Tonbridge and is an active member of the Old Tonbridgian Rifle Club.
